Ramsey's Draft Wilderness, GWNF

The Virginia Wilderness Committee, Wild Virginia, and the George Washington & Jefferson National Forests of the U.S. Forest Service are very proud to host two events in “Celebration of Wilderness”.   The two evenings in September 2012 are designed to raise public awareness of, and interest in, Wilderness in Virginia.  Each of these events will focus on Wilderness and the National Wilderness Preservation System as we approach the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act in 2014.  The events will take place:

Saint Mary's Wilderness, GWNF

 visit Facebook for Blacksburg event Thursday, September 13, 2012, 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the Lyric Theatre in Blacksburg, VA 


 visit Facebook for Harrisonburg event Thursday, September 27, 2012, 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Martin Chapel at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA 

Each event features two speakers – 

local nature writer Chris Bolgiano local nature writer Chris Bolgiano( Biography info.), 

and Bill Meadows Bill Meadows, former President of The Wilderness Society( Biography info.), the former President of The Wilderness Society.
